CRAFT TEAM – Nanette Lewis
Thank you to those members who attended our first Craft Team meeting and special thanks to Judy Cooper for opening her home to us as we planned for 2014.
Nanette Lewis volunteered to be team leader for the coming year and both Judy Cooper and Tami Lee offered to assist her.
The crafts team will meet every month and the group agreed to meet every other month to share & teach our crafts. Lorraine Mumm has offered to show us how to make rugs using wool material and Nanette is willing to demonstrate how your computer can enhance your crafting. Other crafts we want to share/learn are making lanterns from glassware and creating the pot-people we all think are darling!
We also would like to work with the Boys & Girls Club this year to share our skills with the students there.
After discussing what we could do to support the club this year we decided on the following strategy: Sell raffle tickets, create and donate items for raffle baskets (or create a basket of our own to raffle off), attend the annual tea and bring a guest, and donate craft items to sell at the Holiday Craft Bazaar. Proceeds from our table at the Bazaar would go directly to the club.
Records show the Craft Team raised $430.00 in 2013. Our first goal is to improve on this figure.
DGC NEEDS AN HISTORIAN FOR 2014
We are still looking for a member or members to take up the JOY! of gathering our clubs memories for this year. DGC has over 53 years of Historian Books in our PP Library. Please take a look at our DGC shelf the next time you are in our Library it is quite interesting to see our LONG HISTORY!
This is something that can be done by a couple of members who like to Scrap Book, maybe divide the year up into 2 or 3 month sections so it could be manageable? We have a budget for this very worthwhile project. Please contact me if you are willing to do this.
