President’s Message
Our trip to Wood’s Lake on August 6th was quite
“MAGICAL”. We could have not asked for a more beautiful day in the mountains. We were in the middle of our meeting and a Hummingbird landed on Sylvia Hamblin’s bright pink fuchsia jacket, and stayed right there for her photo op which many of us did get with our cameras. MS HUMMINGBIRD stayed for a long while, it was so wonderful. Jeri Hartman lead us on a walk around the lake and YES, there were wildflowers in the meadow.
Thank You Jeri for such a Fabulous Day!
We do have a Nomination Team formed for the 2015 Board Openings, Marilyn Brown, Norma Ray, and Marion Majestic stepped up to take this team to help get a new Board for 2015.
The positions that need to be filled are:
President, Vice President and Secretary. Maureen Julian has agreed to stay on as Treasurer. If you are considering filling these positions, please contact anyone on the Nomination Team and let them know.
I need to gently remind this club and its members that if there is NO BOARD, THERE IS NO CLUB.
It would be a shame if our beloved club had to disband.
Fondly,
Mary Bourn

Gardening Team
Community Garden watering volunteers through August are Jayne Loughry on Monday, Norma Ray on Wed. and Sandra Morgan on Friday. Thank you to these ladies that stepped up to help. Our tomatoes are getting ripe, however, we are having a problem this year with Blossom Rot. Front Yard Nursery told me this is from lack of calcium in the soil. They suggested adding liquid calcium in the water once a week, then in the fall adding granular calcium to the soil. I will be purchasing the liquid calcium and adding it. They said the tomatoes are still edible, just cut off the affected bottom spots.
We are still scheduled to clean up Daffodil Hill on August 28th at 9am.
