DOGWOOD GARDEN CLUB

June 7, 2017

MINUTES

Location: Hooverville Farms, Placerville

Speakers: John Havicon and James Joakim of the El Dorado Backyard Beekeepers

Meeting called to order by Norma Ray at 12:17 p.m.

  1. Pledge of allegiance led by Marilu Blau
  2. Request for additional Agenda Items – None
  3. Minutes from March 2017 Meeting
    1. Moved to approve, Jeri Hartman
    2. Seconded, Kay Campbell
    3. Motion Approved by attending members
  4. Introduction of Guests and New Members
  5. Treasurer’s Report – Total at end of March $2,977.07
  6. Old Business
    1. Reports from the Craft Team (Sylvia Hamblin) and Leslie Sinclair regarding Arbor Day activities
      1. Weather was cold and rainy
      2. Bake Sale made $60
  • Craft Sale Made $70
    1. GOOD NEWS: Lots of crafts left for future fundraisers
  1. Report from Friends of the Library (Marilyn Johnson) regarding Book Sale
    1. Wonderfully successful: Earned $610.
      1. Another sale being run on Labor Day Weekend
    2. New Business – Norma Ray
      1. June 14th Birthday Lunch at Poor Red’s – Mary Bourn
        1. Birthdays – Virginia Bane, Kay Campbell, Chris Whitby
        2. RSVP to Mary Bourn

      1. June 9, Pollock Pines Community Center
      2. DGC selling root beer floats to benefit PPC Community Center
    2. Pickers and Peddlers Fair – Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Back Roads Barn (Mary Bourn)
      1. DGC asked to set up croquet on lawn
      2. Three raffle baskets will be contributed
      3. Craft Team will be manning booth from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Volunteers needed
      4. Other activities: Face Painting, Food Trucks, Live Music
  • Holiday Craft Fair – Norma Ray and Lexa Mack
    1. November 12 – PPC Community Center
    2. Vendor Booths $15
    3. Food
  1. Information for Club Members: PPCRSC Emergency Address Sign Fundraiser being held in conjunction Wagon Train festivities
