DOGWOOD GARDEN CLUB JUNE MINUTES

Thank you to the meeting host and Shelly for arranging the meeting and the tour.

Approval of Minutes (May): 1st by Amy, 2nd by Carol.
Treasurer’s Report (Anne Mintmier):
– Craft Fair Net Profit: $1,293.34
– Current Bank Balance: $3,627
– Cash Box Total: $100
Old / Current Business:
– Member Directory: Lifetime member information was sent out to verify contact details.
– Group Email: No update at this time.
– Post Office Coordinator: Sue has cleaned the flower beds. Weed whacking is still required. Spruce spray (animal-safe) may be used for future weed prevention.
– Progressive Lunch (August 21st): Organized by Debbie Bybee. Two spots remain available.
– Wagon Train (June 5th): This event occurred on June 5th.
– 4th of July Parade Bake Sale: The church confirmed use of their parking lot. Volunteers are still needed for the 2nd shift and as “runners” to sell goods along the route. We also require an additional baker for dog treats and more general bakers.
New Business:
– Plant Swap: To be held at Carol Games’ home. Rules: Bring a plant, take a plant.
– Flutter Flags: Currently obtaining pricing for “Bake Sale” flags. Leslie S. provided an umbrella stand for use. The club is also researching a 1’x6′ vinyl banner stating that “all proceeds go back into the community” to be used at all future fundraisers.
Other Business:
– Sunshine Report (Jeri Hartman): “No news is good news”; no illnesses reported.
– Friends of the Library: The book sale yielded a record profit of over $700. Thank you to all helpers and shoppers.
– Birthday Lunch: Celebrations for May/June birthdays occurred on June 10th at Tropics Island Grill. RSVP by Tuesday the 9th to Debbie.
– Next Meeting: July 1st at Green Acres in Folsom. Greg Grayton will be the guest speaker. Please contact Theresa to coordinate carpooling.
– Side Trip (June 6th): The visit to the Murer House and Gardens for Lavender Days occurred on June 6th.
– Kayaking: Starting July 18th 11am, outings will occur every other week. To join the text reminder list, contact Debbie Bybee. Meet at 11:00 AM at the 2nd boat ramp; bring your own lunch, water, sunscreen, and hat.
– Raffle: Today’s raffle raised $110. September and October raffles are upcoming.

– Bingo: Tuesdays.
– Tai Chi & Senior Balance: Thursdays.
– Yoga: Mondays.
– 4th of July Pancake Breakfast: Adults $12, Seniors $10, Kids (12 & under) $6.
– Logging Days: Scaled to one day, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (DGC is not participating this year).
– Sherwood Gardens (Master Gardener Classes): Open Fridays and Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
