Hello Ladies,
WOW, we are exactly 6 months away from Christmas. That doesn’t even sound possible.
We had a great meeting at the Sherwood Demonstration Garden earlier this month. It was a great turn out with a total of 18, including 2 guests. Dave gave us a great tour of the native plants, pollinators and plants to attract butterflies.
Anne gave us a report with final numbers of a Net Profit of $1293.34 for the Craft Faire in May and we made $452.00 at Wagon Train Bake Sale. Wow that is a lot of money to go back into the community. We also had a raffle that brought in $120.00 for the club.
We had a side event – Plant Swap at Carol Game’s house on Wednesday, June 23rd. Although it was very small, we had a really good time exchanging and visiting. Carol had several tables set up for yard décor, outdoor plants, indoor plants, succulents and of course a free table, too. You all really missed out on a great event; a good time was had by all.
Another side event we had following the last meeting was the visit to the Murer House and Garden Tour Lavender Day in Folsom. It was marvelous! The Italian 1926 home was so adorable and the gardens charming. Greg from Green Acres spoke about lavenders and gave seeds and plants away. I know I learned several new things. There also was a bee man who shared so much knowledge on bees. There was a raffle for huge garden themed baskets and both Debbie and Anne were lucky winners. There were chocolate and pastry tasting featuring lavender in the ingredients, Venders were scattered through the yard which was fun to browse. We even were given free min sachets to fill with lavender. And well what can I say about the lunch following at Viconti’s except that it was enjoyed by all. Some of us had to then go on to Green Acres and buy more plants. (This paragraph was shared by Becky L.)
Went down to the Post Office to weed whack and someone had beat me to it. If it was one of you, thank you.
Next Event – 4th of July Parade Bake Sale. We have been confirmed that we can put our pop-ups at the Church by the trees in front. We still need some bakers for this event. A separate email will be sent with exact details of what is needed to make this event as successful as our other events..
Next Meeting – I’m so excited we are going to Green Acres in Folsom and of course Mr. Greg will be giving a presentation. A separate email to follow with details. Remember carpooling is available, just need to speak up.
