Bloomin’ News – President’s Message, August and September 2026

Hello Ladies,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in sending out the President’s Messages for August and September. Life has been quite busy lately and I appreciate your understanding.

August Meeting Highlights
Our August meeting at Bluestone Meadow Farm had a great turnout despite the heat. Thanks to your generosity, our raffle raised $130.00 for the club, and we all learned a lot about bees. I want to extend a special thank you to our Progressive Lunch hosts—Shelly Hartman, Allison Knight, and Ann Strong—for opening their lovely homes and gardens to us. A wonderful time was had by all!

September Meeting Highlights & Updates
We had a decent turnout of 14 members at Bridal Veil Falls despite the weather. Please note the following updates from the meeting minutes:

– Elections: All four board positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are open for the upcoming term. Detailed job descriptions are available for each role. We hope to see candidates step forward in October ahead of the November elections and swearing-in.

– Website Manager: Becky McIntyre, who has managed our website since its inception, will be stepping down starting January 2027. If you are tech-savvy and interested in taking over, please reach out to me or any board member.

 – Craft Faire: Vendor applications are in, and we are currently selecting vendors. We still need additional help with setup and takedown; sign-up sheets will be available at the October meeting.

 – Craft Faire Bake Sale: We currently have 9 members signed up to bring baked goods. The sign-up sheet will also be available at the October meeting.

 – Christmas Party: Tickets will go on sale in November, though we hope to email the order form sooner. Please refer to the September meeting notes for pricing. Sign-up sheets are available for table hosts, and we also need a volunteer to make the coffee.

 – Membership: We currently have 67 members, including 9 new members this year! Thank you all for spreading the word about our organization. I have actually run out of the plant stakes that we gift to new members and we will be needing to make more soon.
