November Elections- All 4 positions are open and needing filled.
The general consensus was that we nominate from those who were not with us at
today’s meeting. Come in November to find out if you are being voted into one of

November Craft Faire – Applications for vendors and the advertising were completed.

Jan/ Norma -Decorations
The question was asked about purchasing some Christmas decor to use as the
club does not own any of the decorations we use. It was agreed this could be
Done. We have a sign up sheet for set up and tear down crews.
New Business –
Christmas Party -At the Shakespeare Club Dec. 2nd 2pm.- Allison catering
Opus will be entertaining us with his wonderful songs again.
The menu will be Italian themed with appetizers, several salads, a tuscan chicken, a Penne with meat sauce and garlic bread. Exact menu will be presented at the Nov. Meeting.
The Garden Club will be providing dessert which will be from Costco, possibly Tiramisu.
BYO drinks if you want something beyond an Italian soda or Pellegrini. (not sure yet which of those will be provided.)
Money will be needed to pay Opus the $300, buy the dessert and non-alcoholic drinks and have a tip. Tickets will be $45 each the same as last year.
We need someone to be in charge of making the coffee.
There are sign ups for table hosts which entails providing a center piece decoration.
Website (webmaster) position will be needed for DGC beginning in Jan. 2027
October Meeting Details – The meeting will be at Carol Games home. There will be a raffle so please bring your raffle money and something to donate to the cause. This is the last raffle of the year!
The meeting is from 11-12 – Hummingbird Speaker talking from 12-12:45 with lunch at 1
Bring your folding chair- We are meeting on her patio. BYO beverage of choice.
There will be a pot luck following the meeting.

Sunshine Report – No news is good news
Membership Report – Ann – 67 members, (9 new members this year), and 27 lifetime members.
Birthday Lunch – July, Aug. and September lunches will be celebrated next Wed. The location will be in an email to come out in a day or so. It will be at The Tap House or the Public House. Nov./Dec. Birthday lunch will be celebrated in Nov. at the Sportsmen’s Club.
Side Trippers –
Kayaking is over for the year
Nov. 11th (to still be confirmed) Will be a trip to Artist Joyce Martin’s garden in its fall colors. She has many sculptures and garden “rooms”, an art studio and more to see. Limited parking so we must carpool and space may be limited to first sign ups.
Trees for Teens –Voted and approved to spend the $50 to support the Sierra Ridge Elementary School. We decorate a tree the CDAP provides. Tree lighting will be Dec. 5th and Santa will be there.

Community Center Christmas Dinner –December 13th. Santa will be there. DGC will pay for ornament craft kits for the kids to do while waiting for their dinner or Santa.

El Dorado Chapter of the CA Native Plant Society:
Meetings are the 4th Tuesday Sept. and Nov. 7-8:3-pm presentations made by native plant experts on topics from botany to home gardening. Plant sale will be online Oct. 1st-4th with in person pick-up on Oct 10th at Wakamatsu Farm in Placerville.
The Nature Nook, a native plant demonstration garden, located next to the main county library in Placerville, is always open for viewing.
