PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Greetings Fellow DGCers:
I’m sitting by the fire wondering if Spring will ever come! Fortunately the weather was nice for our April meeting and a good number turned out at Marlene Ruth’s Dolls and Memories Museum. What an enjoyable way to remember our youth. I really enjoyed hearing Marlene’s stories – particularly the one about how she acquired the Italian mannequin! The day was topped off by lunch at Sportsman’s Hall. Our thanks to Amy for letting us have separate checks!
The birthday lunch was held at Bricks in Placerville and hosted by Janet Sullivan. We had a great turnout – around 16 I believe. A great afternoon of good food, lots of laughter and a few rain drops! Next month’s birthday lunch will take place on May 10th at the Forester in Camino. Janet will host. May birthday celebrators are: Amy Rath, Janel Edmiston, Jayne Loughry, Joan Hall, Judy Magness, Leslie Sinclair, Marlene Ruth, Patty Noble and Sandra Morgan.
Our first fundraising event of the year is coming up on May 6th as part of this year’s Wildfire Prevention Day. We will have a large booth selling both crafts and baked goodies hand made by our members. The event is from 11-3 at the fire house on Pony Express in Pollock Pines. Help with set up, clean up and selling would be greatly appreciated.
I’m happy to say that Lexa Mack has agreed to help out with the Christmas Craft Faire! We could still use more help particularly with vendors and publicity. If you’re interested, please let me know.
Marilu Blau, host of the next Dogwood Garden Club meeting has a wonderful day of wine, food and flowers scheduled for us! Information is available here. The meeting starts at 11 a.m. Be sure to mail in your form by April 26th.
I hope everyone is managing to stay toasty warm!
