June 2023 – Bloomin’ News

Hello Ladies,

It’s about to be Summer according to the calendar this Wednesday.  I’m still calling our current weather Spring!

We canceled our June meeting this month.  We had many telling us Roseville was too far to go, with only 7 members responding to the email asking who would be attending so we’d have a count.

We’ve heard some of our meetings are too far away.  So, we’ve rescheduled our June Green Acres presentation with our friend Greg to the Folsom location for our July 5th meeting.

Look for details of the July 5th meeting in the Meeting Notice that will go out this Wednesday.

Our Tallac Historic Site meeting in S. Lake Tahoe MAY become a “Side Tripper” at some point this summer.  If that does happen an email will go out with date and time, those of you who would like to go, carpool with a friend and we’ll meet up.

June Birthday Lunch this month was held at the Greenhouse Cafe in Placerville.

Our warmer weather (sort of lately) has kicked off our Summer events & activities.

Wagon Train – Was Friday June 9th, rolling thru Pollock Pines and ending at the Community Center for a fun day of activities>  Our Dogwood Garden Club hosted its annual Bake Sale again with a great day earning us $550.00!!  $120.00 more than last year. Thank you Carol Game for leading this event, all of you who helped in the booth AND all of you GREAT bakers.

Rummage Sale – Our Rummage Sale this last Saturday June 19th was another great success!  We ended up making $879.50 after we had to pay to have items hauled away.  Unfortunately some of the donated items were not items that could be sold due to their condition. Again, we made $154.75 more than last year! A big thank you to Mary Lou Katon and Colleen Ferrari who were team leads and ALL of you ladies who worked so hard working the 3 spaces during the event.

UPCOMING

4th of July Parade Bake Sale- Our bake sale booth will again be in front of Pony Express Shipping.  Thank you Bill & Susan Cross for letting us set up in front of their store and for helping set up.  LOTS of bakers have signed up to bake goodies.  I know it’s so close to the Wagon Train event, so Thank You, Thank You!!  Lauran, Theresa will be joined this year by JC Lewis going up and down Pony Express Trail before the parade starts selling baked goodies, kettle corn, cold water and Gatorade. Hope to see all of you out watching the parade. Stop by to get some great baked goods to take home to your family BBQ’S & get togethers after the parade.

Again, a meeting notice will go out this Wednesday, June 21st with a reminder going out Sunday, July 2nd.  Meeting is the day after the 4th of July!

See You Soon!
