Our May meeting still included the Iris Garden; the weatherman had a new forecast for the day and Norma decided we would go to the garden after our meeting at the Forester. If you did not go, or have never been, treat yourself this month, when the Irises are in full bloom!
Our 55th DGC Anniversary dinner is only a month away! Your paid reservation needs to be to Kay Campbell by Friday, June 3rd; cost is $25pp. OR bring your check to the June 1 meeting!
I want to thank all the members that helped Leslie with the community Arbor Day event, it was very successful for a first time event…..way to go Leslie!

June 1 Meeting
Are you ready for a Mexican Fiesta Luncheon, being outdoors, and learning about helpful herbs from our gardens?
Our guest lecturer will be Lisa Murphy, Natural Practitioner, Healer & Teacher. She will share Six Short Herb Studies that have Restorative Properties from our Everyday Gardens.
Our June meeting will be held on Rich & Choral Engstrom’s back deck.
- Time: 10:30
- Please bring a folding chair, and a jacket or sweater if the weather is cool.
- We will be serving a delicious buffet style lunch from Freshmex Express. The cost is $14 pp; please mail your check by to arrive no later than Wed. May 25.
- You are welcome to bring your own lunch, should you decide not to partake in the luncheon offering.

June 8 Birthday Luncheon
The June Birthday Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 8th at 11:30 am at The California Kitchen Restaurant, 251 Main Street, Placerville. We will be given separate checks. Marian Majestic is your June Birthday Luncheon Hostess. Please contact Marian if you plan to attend . Please see your Garden Club roster for Marian’s phone number or email address. The California Kitchen restaurant has a great menu including, soup, salads hamburgers and specialty sandwiches, or you can order breakfast.
