SWEET MEMORIES OF OUR DEAR MARY SIMPSON AND CHARLOTTE TAYLOR
Hello Ladies, We have had such sad news at the passing of our long time club members, and friends Mary Simpson and Charlotte Taylor this month. Many of you knew both these ladies and for those who did not, they were each remarkable and accomplished woman. We will miss them.
Our May Meeting at Greenstone Barn with Tenley Martinez of Sea Dreams Lavender Farms was well attended and the Food Drive for the Food Closet was such a huge success. Your donations filled a Food Pantry that has been so depleted due to demand in our Community. Thank You Sandra Morgan for your beautiful basket that you donated as a “Thank You” to all who brought groceries. Becky McIntyre won this basket. Thanks to Kathryn Anderson for setting up the Barn for us to use and Judy Jackson for our May Program.
DGC is a club that is so lovingly supported by many members who strongly believe that there are so many places in our Community that we CAN and DO make a difference, from the Library, Sly Park Lake, Pinewood School, Boy’s and Girl’s Club the Community Garden just to name a few of the many places that have our “Special Touch” .I am so very proud to be associated with such a wonderful, giving group of members.
I also want to encourage our many new members to join in our interesting and varied Teams it is a great way to meet other members.
Our Spring Tea Fundraiser with the Friends of the Library is turning out to be a huge success for the LORA project.
Many thanks, to all our members, who are attending and who have invited guests to this worthwhile event.
See you at the Tea???
