MINUTES
Meeting called to order by Norma Ray at 12:00 Noon
- Pledge of Allegiance led by Marilu Blau
- Request for additional Agenda Items – Sly Park Resort Entrance Planting
- Nancy and Tom Schulz said they would be able to handle this on their own.

- Treasurer’s Report
- Total at end of March $3,029.20

- Lifetime Member Judy Magness was announced
- April Birthday Lunch – April 12, 11:30 at Bricks on Main Street, Placerville (Janet Sullivan) Birthday celebrators for April are Teresa Burroughs, Ken Brown, Maureen Julian, Joyce Harris and Darlene Grosz
- Next Meeting – May 3, 2017 at Via Romano Vineyard and Camino Nursery
- Lunch to be ordered from Timmy’s Brown Bag (order in advance)
- Christmas Lunch – December 6, 2017 at the Sequoia in Placerville. Pat Schoggins has sign-up sheets (you may pay early, if desired)
- Craft Team – Sylvia Hamblin and Judy Cooper had samples of Fairy Lights, Birch Logs and Cinnamon Bundles. A meeting to make more is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6 at Sylvia’s.
- Note Cards – Marilu Blau had sample Dogwood stamped note cards that can be made and sold in packets at the fund raising events.
- Library Maintenance (Norma Ray for Pat Schoggins) – The current schedule is:
- April – Leslie Sinclair and Sylvia Hamblin
- May – Jeri Hartman and Marilyn Johnson
- A major cleanup may be scheduled for June
- Fund Raising
- Arbor Day/Wildfire Preparedness Day – May 6, 2017 – 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. (Leslie Sinclair) – Set up at 10:30
- Held at the Pollock Pines Fire Station on Pony Express Trail
- Seven (7) booths – DGC will have crafts and baked goods for sale
- List circulated to sign-up to bring bake sale items.
- Interactive kids’ activity
- May be advertised on Safeway and Fire Station Marquees
- Pickers and Peddlers Fair – Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Back Roads Barn (Mary Bourn)
- DGC asked to set up croquet on lawn
- Three raffle baskets will be contributed
- Craft Team will be manning booth from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
- Need Volunteers
- Other activities include face painting, food trucks and live music
- Arbor Day/Wildfire Preparedness Day – May 6, 2017 – 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. (Leslie Sinclair) – Set up at 10:30
- Wagon Train – Pollock Pines
- DGC will be selling Root Beer Floats as a fundraiser for the Community Center
- Holiday Craft Fair – (Norma Ray) – Norma asked for help in running this event.

- Extra-Curricular Activity:
- PAWs ARC 2000 in San Andreas will have an Open House on May 13, 2017 (Pat Weideman) If attending we will be carpooling from CVS parking lot in Pollock Pines at 9:00 a.m. pawsweb.org for tickets. Must be purchased in advance.
- Information
- Leslie Sinclair provided regarding El Dorado Rose Membership. Must be over 60 years old and a resident of El Dorado county for over 10 years.
- May 3 meeting last opportunity to donate books to the Library Book Sale on May 27. A sign up sheet to work the book sale was passed around.
- Save the Canal (Leslie Sinclair) – Move to prevent the placement of a pipeline in the canal and remove the trees.
- Judy Jackson has moved to LA and could use some support from club members (new phone number in roster)
- Bunny Minkin sent a thank-you card to the club for the lovely send-off.
